Adaptation 2009 was the fifth Adaptation Festival, curated each year by Leitrim based filmmaker Johnny Gogan in association with Sunniva O'Flynn of the Irish Film Archive. In 2009 they focussed on the work of two Booker nominees, Jennifer Johnston and Bernard MacLaverty.

We showed screen adaptations of their work over the weekend as well as two children's films and the regional premiere of Conor McDermottroe's Swansong, itself an adaptation of his own play.
